Janis is from Silsbee, a small rural town in Hardin County in Southeast Texas,
where she has lived since 1993. She is a lifelong Republican, having cast her first
vote in a presidential election for Ronald Reagan in 1980.

Janis and her husband of almost 33 years are owners of Hi-Tech Air Purification
Systems which provides air purification systems for homes,
businesses and military installations. They also raise Angus cattle on their ranch.
Janis has been a dental assistant and a 4th grade schoolteacher. She is very active
in her community where she has been a School Board Trustee for the Silsbee
Independent School District since 2014. She currently serves as Board President.
Janis and her husband, Alton, have 4 married children and are the proud
grandparents of four granddaughters and one grandson.

Parents are the primary decision makers for their children in all matters. This authority shall be protected as an inalienable right. This shall include the choice of schooling where the money follows the child. Enforcement and penalty mechanisms when parents’ rights are violated should also be part of a comprehensive parental rights package. The right to education shall be free from any social theories.
Pro-life in Texas:
End abortion by ensuring the right to life and equal protection of the laws to all preborn children from the moment of fertilization, including adopting effective tools to ensure the enforcement of our laws to protect life when district attorneys fail to do so.
Defend Our Gun Rights:
Protect our gun rights against threats, such as red flag laws, federal, state or other restrictions, by strengthening and preserving our inalienable rights under the second amendment to protect our life, liberty and property.
Ban Gender Modification of Children:
Texas must ban chemical castration, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, genital mutilation, bodily alteration surgery, psychological/social transitioning, and any other methods applied to or performed on children.
Ban Democrat Chairs:
To ensure all legislative Republican priorities are given a fair opportunity to become law, the Republican-controlled Texas legislature shall adopt a rule that would end the practice of awarding committee chairmanships to Democrats.
Janis has been a delegate to the Republican Precinct, County and State Conventions since 2008 and has been an elected delegate to the National Convention in 2012 and 2016. She has been a Precinct Chair and an Election Judge. She was also a member of the 2016 Electoral College from Congressional District 36. Janis was awarded the RPT Volu

Janis was awarded the RPT Volunteer of the Year from Senatorial District 3 for 2017. She also has served as Committeewoman from SD 3 on the State Republican Executive Committee.
Janis has been a member of the Hardin County Republican Women since 2009.She has been the club treasurer, secretary and has served four terms as President. She currently serves as VP of Legislation. Janis has served on the Texas Federation of Republican Women Board of Directors in many positions including VP of Finance, VP of Campaign Activities, District Director for SD3, Awards Chair and Americanism Chair. Janis was also named one of TFRW’s 10 Outstanding Women in 2019 and she was TFRW’s Woman of Distinction in May of 2022.
Janis also has served on the Board of Directors of the National Federation of Republican Women in several positions including Chair of the Faith Coalition Committee, Chair of the Campaign Committee and served on the PR Committee. She currently serves on the Campaign Committee.
Janis was appointed in December of 2019 by Texas Governor, Greg Abbott to serve on the State Commission on Judicial Conduct for a 5-year term. She serves on the Commission’s Executive Committee and currently serves as Vice-Chair.
Janis won the TFRW award for most campaign/political action hours in the state of Texas for 2022-23. She also won the award for most campaign/political action hours for NFRW. 11,019 hours! Making her the most active Republican Woman volunteer in the United States!
